sigh....I'm married to such a dork....

here it is, 10:45 on a Wednesday night, and hubby's more than thrilled because a "How It's Made" show on TV is demonstrating how legos are made.

Yes, he's gonna be 40 in August and it thrills him no end to play with kiddie legos.

Sheesh.....

In the meantime, gonna try and write here more, especially when I have to sit here at night and watch thrilling programming like this.

Had a not-so-thrilling day at work today, more of the same old thing with season ticket orders coming in that need to be entered in spreadsheets. Won't be long and we'll get to start filling the orders, at least that will be different!

Had a supper out with my church choir tonight too - that was fun, but my clothes are telling me in no uncertain terms that "all you can eat" is not necessarily a good thing for me. Either I've got to stop doing all-you-can-eat, or I've got to take my bike out, dust it off and start riding again.

Wonder if I can figure out how to knit and bike at the same time because I don't think I can give up completely on all the shrimp and bacon-wrapped crab meat I can get.

:-)

Oh, look, stupid lego segment is done, guess I can get the dogs out and go to bed, another long day tomorrow, have to go to the nursing home with mom for a wellness update on dad, then back to work, then piano lessons afterwards.....no rest for me, not even this weekend!

More later.....

Snowy Thursday!

Cancelled choir practice last night because this scheduled snow moved in earlier in the day than expected and the roads turned nasty! Tried to go to work today and failed - I made it about 1/3 of the way there but the roads weren't plowed and the drivers that were out seemed to think the snow and ice and lack of plowed roads still meant they were supposed to drive stupid. So, watched a few people skid around and decided I didn't need to be out, so called in to work and decided to work from home instead!

Taking a short break and decided to upload photos of my projects!

Here's my Ribbi Cardi all DONE DONE DONE!

Close-up....

Here's a couple of Little Traveler Blankies I've made for a co-worker who's going to be a grandma at the end of the month....

And finally, photos of the back of the commando sweater I'm designing for hubby:

Those last sweater photos didn't turn out the best, but it's a dark sage yarn and the flash didn't do much to make that apparent excpet for the last close-up of the ribbing pattern.

Guess I'd better get back to work since I'm working from home and break time is about over! See ya soon.....

Happy (belated) birthday to me!

Just got home.....wasn't much of a birthday for me, but it was nice! Tuesday 1/8 was the big day....but unfortunately it was also the day of the wake for my husband's grandmother - so, I had lunch with my co-workers (that was the fun part) and then joined my husband and his family for the wake Tuesday night and the service Wednesday morning. Now, I get home today and sometime between yesterday and today I've strained my back....

I did ALMOST get my present on Tuesday - but not quite. Some kauni yarn I had ordered arrived in the mail, but the postman couldn't fit it in the mailbox and the carport was wet from melting snow, so I got one of those notes to tell me to pick it up at the post office. Of course, with everything else going on, that hasn't happened yet....but soon!

On the up side, I've gotten my project done this week - the Ribby Cardi is done done DONE! Finished that on Monday and wore it to the wake on Tuesday night - took four tries to get the zipper to look the way I wanted it to, but I presevered and got it done!

I also finished the front of the commando sweater hubby's having me make him - looks like it will fit so far, we'll see what happens in the end.

I'll post photos of all the above in a bit - hubby's still with his family until tomorrow so I left one camera with him, I have to find the other camera and take photos of the above.

Update soon......

The first post.....

....and hopefully not the last!

Thanks for coming to visit me here....thought it's about time I joined the blogging world and started something up! Visit me here or on ravelry (I'm KaliKong there too).....

Right now I'm finishing the second sleeve on the Chic Knit's Ribby Cardi sweater

Here's the website photo:

I'll post my own photos here after I get the sleeve done and before and after it's assembled.

Then, I've got the next project lined up, the problem is I'll probably end up creating my own pattern because I just can't find anything he likes that's already created. Here's the dilemma....

After 10 years of marriage, hubby has FINALLY decided I can make a sweater for him - great, except he's a very broad-shouldered man which means lots more stitches than I usually do for me. Not a big issue, but so far all patterns I've found I'll need to alter the number of stitches to get it to fit. The problem comes with the style sweater he wants - he found pictures on the web for me last night, he wants a commando sweater like is used in the military.

complete with fabric patches on shoulders and sleeves....
There lies the challenge - I can do the sweater, should be easy except the size....patches will be fun....he'd just better like it when it's done!
More later.....promise!
